Contract Duration: 1-3 years (Potential for Extension)
Pay Rate: $60-$70/hr
Overview:
We are seeking a Windows Engineer with expertise in Windows Administration, Ansible, Containers, and Vulnerability Management to support a Platform Engineering team. This role involves working across multiple teams, addressing vulnerabilities, and partnering on product releases while serving as an SME for Windows and Ansible.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and troubleshoot containers and address vulnerabilities as they arise.
- Act as an SME for Windows Engineering and Ansible across two teams.
- Partner with teams on product releases, ensuring smooth deployments.
- Consult with engineering staff to evaluate hardware/software interfaces, develop specifications, and resolve technical issues.
- Provide maintenance and operational support for software systems.
- Develop and direct software system testing and validation procedures.
- Communicate project status, technical issues, and proposals to internal teams.
- Oversee software development documentation and best practices.
Required Technical Skills:
- Windows Administration & Engineering (Windows Server expertise)
- Ansible (Configuration Management & Automation)
- Containers (Docker, Kubernetes, or similar technologies)
- WebSphere (Strongly Preferred)
Soft Skills:
- Strong team player with the ability to work independently.
- Problem-solving and remediation skills to troubleshoot technical issues.
- Excellent customer service mindset and internal stakeholder communication.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Experience working in a fast-paced DevOps environment with a focus on automation, security, and infrastructure reliability.
