Celebration Group Homes has a program supervisor position available. This position is at our group homes with adults with intellectual disabilities in Albertville, AL. This position involves quality assurance, leadership, and direct care. Direct Care involves providing care for individuals who need assistance with their daily living skills. Some individuals require checks and changes every two hours and are totally dependent on staff for their daily living skills such as bathing, feeding, dressing, checking and changing, etc. Some individuals have behaviors that require de-escalation. Passion for caring for others is a requirement.

The program supervisor's scheduled shift is Monday through Friday 8am-4pm. However, it is understood that there will be shifts that must be covered by the program supervisor in emergency situations and if there are not enough personnel to cover a shift. In these instances, the program supervisor's schedule will be adjusted accordingly.

Job Purpose: To assume full responsibility and to implement day-to-day functions of the company in accordance with current federal,state, and local standards governing community care facilities to ensure that the highest degree of quality can be provided to the clientsat all times.

Primary Job Function

To assume full responsibility of Quality Assurances at Celebration Group Homes.

To lead direct reports and also assist the persons with disabilities with daily living activities at the person's home, group home, and/or community. Duties performed at a place of residence may include keeping house (making beds, doing laundry, washing dishes, etc.) and preparing meals. May provide assistance at non-residential care facilities. May advise persons with disabilities regarding such things as nutrition, cleanliness, and household activities.

Overview of Responsibilities

  • The program supervisor is responsible for all programs of Celebration Group Homes.
  • The Program Supervisor is also responsible for Quality Assurance at Celebration Group Homes.
  • The Program Supervisor is responsible for ensuring Celebration Group Homes meet all state requirements.
  • There is a “Program Supervisor Checklist” that helps ensure important tasks are completed timely.
  • There are no scheduled direct-care shifts for the program supervisor. However, it is understood that there will be shifts that must be covered by the program supervisor in emergency situations and if there are not enough personnel to cover a shift. If weekend coverage is needed, the following week's schedule for the program supervisor will be adjusted accordingly to provide days off based on the hours/days that were covered throughout the weekend. If the program supervisor works on Saturdays and/or Sundays, the pay rate is the regular rate (or overtime rate, if applicable) $1.00.
  • In the event that there is an issue with a task or duty not being completed by direct care, house managers, or team leaders, the program supervisor will be held responsible. The owner will not call direct-care or house managers to get answers; they will call the program supervisor for answers.
  • The most important responsibility for all team members, including the supervisors are the health and well-being of the individuals cared for by Celebration Group Homes. This should never be forgotten and always lead us to the correct answers as to how to handle situations.
  • The program supervisor is to communicate daily with the House Managers about all clients’ health. House Managers report team member issues and general issues to the program supervisor.
  • The Program Supervisor should be proficient in technology and able to easily learn our documentation and management software programs (Therap & Asana).
  • The Program Supervisor should be able to problem-solve and help the team where needed. At the same time, the Program Supervisor should allow their leaders time to solve their own problems without solving them for them. If the leaders are unable to solve the problem, the Program Supervisor will step in.
  • The Program Supervisor should present themselves with honesty and integrity.
  • The Program Supervisor serves as a liaison between staff and administration. Therefore, the communication from staff should be brought to admin in a timely and honest manner.
  • The Program Supervisor will be responsible for on-call and making schedules.
  • The Program Supervisor will interview for Direct Care and Team Leaders and should be equipped in choosing the right person for the job and turning away someone that may not be a good fit.

-At least 1 year work experience working with people with developmental disabilities, childcare, or healthcare in a facility preferred. (daycare, hospital, nursing home, etc).

-2-5 years Leadership/Supervisor/Management experience preferred.
