What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Payable position at Celerity Staffing Solutions?
We are currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team on a temp-to-hire basis.
The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of accounting experience and be comfortable handling a high volume of transactions and managing multiple general ledger accounts.
The role involves timely entry of payables, working with vendors to resolve discrepancies, and assisting with month-end close processes.
Compensation will be determined based on experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reconcile supplier invoices with purchase orders and receipts, ensuring all documents are accurate and complete.
- Collaborate with purchasers, receivers, and vendors to resolve discrepancies related to invoices, packing slips, and pricing.
- Enter invoices promptly to ensure payments are made within both discount and net terms.
- Maintain a solid understanding of general ledger accounts and help ensure the accuracy of related payables.
- Manage tax exemption and resale certificates for suppliers, maintaining accurate filing systems.
- Track and match non-stock packing slips with supplier credits, ensuring all documents are accurate and processed correctly.
- File accounts payable documents on a weekly basis and maintain organized filing systems.
- Participate in the accounts payable portion of the month-end close process.
- Provide backup reception coverage as needed.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Accounting, Business, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and other office applications.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks efficiently.
- Ability to sit for extended periods and perform data entry and filing tasks.
- Comfortable accessing files from varying heights (12” to 62”).
