What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hotel Front Night Audit position at Celeste St Paul Hotel + Bar?

At Celeste we are currently looking for energetic fun team members to add to our team for morning, evening, and nightshifts .

Job Responsibilities:

  • Organize, confirm and process guest check-ins/check-outs and provide assistance in the event of any changes
  • Secure payment, verifying and adjusting billing as needed
  • Provide guests with room and hotel information, directions, amenities and local interests
  • Run daily reports, reviewing to see what needs to be communicated to the next shift’s staff
  • Complete cashier and closing reports, counting the bank at the end of each shift securely
  • Accept and record wake-up calls, delivering to the right department
  • Communicate any emergency, lost item or theft to proper security staff and/or authorities
  • Answer phones in a prompt and courteous manner.
  • Record guest preferences in the system.
  • Check guests out, including resolving any late or disputed charges.
  • Accurately process all cash and credit card transactions using established procedures.
  • Issue, control and release guest safe-deposit boxes in line with hotel procedures.
  • Communicate any outstanding guest requests or issues to management that may require additional monitoring or follow-up.
  • Take action to solve guest problems/complaints using appropriate service recovery guidelines.
  • Follow established hotel safety protocols and procedures at all times. Immediately report any health and safety incidents, security breaches, concerns or suspicious behavior to the supervisor or manager on duty.
  • May routinely book guest reservations for individuals and/or groups that are requested either by phone or from within the hotel; process cancellations, revisions, and information updates on charges.
  • Work as part of a team and communicate with other departments as per hotel procedures to ensure excellent quality and service
  • Perform other duties as assigned including guest room tours, concierge services, special guest requests, etc.
  • Work under general supervision, with a high degree of initiative, resourcefulness, and creativity.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Qualifications:

  • One year front desk/guest service experience, preferred

Preferred Job Qualifications:

  • Exhibit computer skills to include MS Office, Cash/Credit Card handling
  • Exercise excellent communication, verbal and written, presentation, organization, time management and listening skills.
  • Strong communication skills when interacting with guests and employees
  • Reading and writing abilities are used often when completing paperwork, logging issues/complaints/requests/information updates, etc.
  • Problem solving, reasoning, motivating, and training abilities are often used
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and/or holidays

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequently standing up behind the desk and front office areas
  • Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds
