YOUR WORK ENVIRONMENT
As the Merchandising Trainee, and part of the Merchandising Team, you will engage directly in dynamic buying activities. You will play an active role in analyzing stock and sales by store, understanding market needs, presenting/creating product knowledge and assisting the Buyers with market prep and product assortment.
This experience will enable you to develop a strong foundation in fashion retail analytics, enhance your problem-solving skills, and gain hands-on experience in a luxury environment.
By participating in these core activities, you'll cultivate a keen sense for business efficiency and develop actionable insights that support Celine’s commercial objectives.
Based in the New York Corporate Office. Candidate must be able to accommodate 40 hours per week.

Your impact
Reporting:
- Assist with maintaining and running weekly sales reports; preparing sell-thru reports; compiling seasonal qualitative collection feedback
- Support Merchandising team on ad-hoc analysis as needed
- Support with all merchandising communications for stores, including weekly newsletter updates, seasonal selling tools, and product knowledge
- Prepare recaps on competitive landscape including competitors pricing, trends and market activities
- Assist team during seasonal Buying Markets: support compilation of premarket analysis, maintain buy sheets, and perform ad-hoc analysis during market
- Assist in transferring and consolidating product across the region; help following up on product deliveries
- Support LG team in moving merchandise between stores for exotic caravans
Education:
- Must be an active student in the NYC area, either MBA degree or Undergraduate degree, preferably with a Business Management or Fashion major
- 2-year minimum work or internship experience.
- Experience in luxury/fashion business a plus.
- Must be available M-F, 9-6pm, Friday work from home
- Very strong analytical skills & good understanding of the overall business, propose options / solutions
- Proficient computer skills; utilize Excel and other various software packages to create reports and analytics
- Have a passion and sensibility for the fashion and luxury-goods industry.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
- Illustrate ability for independent and creative problem-solving.
- Organization and time management skills; ability to manage tight deadlines and multi-task
- Proficient in retail math
