Photo Art Director (Hybrid)

Location: Kohler, Wisconsin

Job Type: 6-month W2 Contract

Compensation Range: $40 - 50 per hour

We are seeking a skilled Photo Art Director with expertise in photography and rendering to lead visual storytelling for our product-focused imagery. This role will primarily focus on rendered photography (90%), with some traditional photography (10%). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in product photography within a scene (e.g., kitchens, bathrooms) rather than isolated, white-background shots.

This position requires a detail-oriented and process-driven approach, as creative freedom will be limited due to the structured nature of our product visuals. While experience with rendering is highly preferred, we are open to candidates with strong photo direction skills who are eager to learn.

This is a hybrid role (2-3 times per week in-office).

Responsibilities:

Creative Execution

• Lead rendered and traditional photography projects, ensuring all visuals align with brand standards.
• Oversee scene composition for kitchens, bathrooms, and other interior spaces to highlight our products effectively.
• Collaborate with internal teams to develop shot lists and production plans.

Project & Resource Management

• Work closely with producers to prioritize tasks, manage resources, and meet deadlines.
• Ensure all projects are delivered on time and within budget.
• Provide clear direction to designers, retouchers, and rendering specialists.

Collaboration & Communication

• Partner with cross-functional teams, including project managers, designers, and 3D rendering specialists.
• Offer feedback and guidance to maintain visual consistency across all assets.

Requirements

• 8 years of experience in photo art direction, with a strong focus on product photography.
• Proficiency in InDesign, Photoshop, and SketchUp.
• Experience in rendered photography preferred, but strong traditional photo direction skills will be considered.
• Ability to compose and direct product imagery within lifestyle scenes.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work within structured creative guidelines.
• Strong time management and communication skills.

Luxury brand experience is not required—we are looking for a highly skilled Photo Art Director who understands product photography in real-world settings.
