Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Cytology Lab Processor to provide general assistance to technologists/technicians and pathologists in our busy laboratory department.
Responsibilities
- Obtain information from various departments to ensure smooth workflow of the entire department.
- Process and/or accession different types of specimens.
- Provide administrative & organizational support to the department.
Employees must adhere to HIPAA standards and strict Standard Operating Procedures and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Order, process and stain gynecological specimens.
- Order, process, stain and provide a gross description for the majority of non-gynecological specimens.
- Maintain and troubleshoot complex issues regarding staining and processing equipment.
- Keep QA logs of processing equipment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, or anatomy required.
- Proficiency in basic computer programs and applications.
