A leader in the Shoe Industry, we are seeking an experienced Human Resources Specialist to collaborate closely with executive leadership and department managers. This role is critical in supporting and developing our organizational structure by overseeing all aspects of Human Resources while ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulatory requirements.
Position Overview
The ideal candidate will serve as a key HR partner, providing expertise and hands-on support in various HR functions, including performance management, employee relations, recruitment, corporate policies and procedures, training, disciplinary actions, leaves of absence, workers’ compensation, workplace safety, and compliance with federal and state regulations
Key Responsibilities
Employee relations
Serve as the primary HR advisor, ensuring adherence to company policies and labor laws
Address employee concerns and provide strategic guidance to management regarding employee relations matters
Maintain compliance with state and federal employment laws, including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, and OSHA regulations
Manage investigations related to employee complaints, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution
Partner with hiring managers to support the full-cycle recruitment process, from sourcing to hiring
Oversee new employee orientation and onboarding to ensure a seamless transition into the company
Develop strategies to attract and retain top talent within the organization
Training & Development
Facilitate management training in areas such as performance reviews, hiring best practices, workplace safety, and anti-harassment policies
Address employee inquiries related to benefits, payroll, and compensation policies
Manage workers’ compensation, unemployment claims, and leave of absence programs
HR Operations & Policy Management
Maintain and update employee handbooks, job descriptions, performance appraisal systems, and HR policies
Support company-wide HR initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives
Qualifications & Requirements
Working knowledge of Excel and MS suite
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Preferred)
Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a warehouse environment
Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR principles, and best practices
Experience in a culturally diverse work environment is highly desirable
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of handling confidential information
Proactive, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving work environment
SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification is a plus
