The Production Manager will be responsible for optimizing kiln and finish mill operations, supervising control room operations, and ensuring strict compliance with safety and environmental regulations. - Production Oversight: Manage all production activities in raw mill, coal mill, kiln, finish mills, and associated support equipment.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to all safety and environmental regulations, as well as company policies, including conducting crew safety meetings and required inspections.
- Equipment Shutdowns: Oversee the timely and cost-effective completion of equipment shutdowns (e.g., refractory, kiln and preheater, cooler, finish mill).
- Production Goals: Ensure operations meet or exceed quality production goals while maintaining efficiency and safety standards.
- Leadership: Provide leadership to the Production department by setting priorities, goals, and motivating staff to achieve objectives.
- Collaboration: Foster cooperation between maintenance, quality, and production departments to ensure smooth operations.
- Budget Management: Design and plan production area budgets, including monthly and annual forecasts.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify operational opportunities, provide technical assistance, and follow up on improvements.
- Collective Bargaining Agreement: Administer the Collective Bargaining Agreement, including participation in disciplinary actions and grievance processes.
- Performance Appraisals: Set annual goals and objectives with production personnel, conducting performance appraisals and development opportunities.
- Daily Operations Reports: Review and analyze Daily Operations Reports to identify areas for improvement.
- Technical Support: Provide technical support after hours when initiated by the Production department.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a technical/engineering field (preferably in Engineering or a hard science) or equivalent work experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in industrial process operations. Cement plant experience preferred; alternative experience in power plants, refineries, or mining also considered.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong knowledge of pyro process and operations within a cement plant.
- Leadership: Proven e$15 k xperience leading teams, setting goals, and managing performance.
- Problem Solving: Strong ability to identify issues, analyze them, and implement effective solutions.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills for coordinating tasks and interacting with various departments.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Knowledge of MSHA/OSHA regulations and the ability to ensure compliance in daily operations.
- Compensation: Annual salary of $150,000
