Project Engineer – Environmental Monitoring Systems
Description:
Come join our team and be part of a technically innovative company that is helping our clients be more environmentally friendly with air emissions. The Project Engineer will perform engineering, design, and configuration activities for Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMS) focused on measuring and reporting hazardous air pollutants regulated by federal, state, and local government agencies. CEMS projects typically use varying measurement principles, including chemiluminescence, paramagnetic cells, tunable diode lasers, etc. The Project Engineer will also become familiar with the components and functioning of the Data Acquisition and Handling System (DAHS) using Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) or data logger devices with Windows based computer systems.

General Responsibilities:
-Engineering design of electrical & instrumentation packages
-Setup and use of mathematical formulas for pollutant data including data storage in SQL databases
-Preparation and submittals of design documents, I/O lists, and CAD drawings
-Interfacing with suppliers and evaluating new technologies and approaches
-Field commissioning activities as needed
-Manage schedule, budget, customer correspondence, and contract issues on assigned projects
-Supporting Factory Acceptance Tests and Field Technicians in person or via phone and email
-Controls configuration and programming, including sequencing, data handling, and logic
-Programming of PLC and HMI systems
Qualifications:
-1-3 years electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation engineering design experience preferred
-Bachelor’s degree engineering (Chemical, Electrical, Environmental or Mechanical)
-Computer experience in Windows OS and networking experience
-Experience with packaged system design via CAD drawings, Bills of Materials, and customer drawing submittals
-Willing to travel to complete field work (up to 30%)
-Excellent English language written and oral communication skills
-Preferred: Experience managing engineering projects including customer interface
-Previous experience programming PLC, SCADA, DCS, or HMI
-Organized mindset with detailed abilities to troubleshoot industrial equipment (signals and logic)
-Works well in project teams in a collaborative environment
