GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
The Loan Servicing HMDA Specialist II is responsible for reviewing application and loan information contained in the Loan Origination System (LOS) to determine HMDA reportability, verify whether the correct action as defined by the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) for all related loans has been taken, and perform reporting on the HMDA Loan Application Registry (LAR) for applicable data points.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Maintains a working knowledge of the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) requirements and the banks lending practices and procedures to perform a thorough and accurate comparative loan analysis. This duty is performed daily, about 20% of the time.
2. Ensures that lenders complete the HMDA Questionnaire within the LOS accurately. This duty is performed daily, about 10% of the time.
3. Inspects all HMDA-related fields within the LOS to ensure completion and accuracy. This duty is performed daily, about 15% of the time.
4. Reports any issues or concerns about non-compliance with HMDA regulatory requirements. This duty is performed daily, about 15% of the time.
5. Collaborates in the update of HMDA policies and procedures. This duty is performed as needed, about 5% of the time.
6. Reviews loan application data and credit files for accuracy in reporting consistent with the requirements of HMDA. This duty is performed daily, about 10% of the time.
7. Analyzes and interprets loan applications and related documents gathered during the loan underwriting process to decision. This duty is performed daily, about 10% of the time.
8. Coordinates with various departments to resolve inconsistencies in application and loan data to recommend warranted changes to ensure efficiency and accuracy in reporting HMDA data. This duty is performed as needed, about 10% of the time.
9. Performs periodic HMDA information audits. This duty is performed as needed, about 5% of the time.
10. Completes required BSA/AML training and other compliance training as assigned. This duty is performed quarterly.
11. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. This duty is performed daily.
12. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Broad knowledge of such fields as accounting, marketing, business administration, finance, etc. Equivalent to a four year college degree, plus 4 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Ability to read and understand documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and correspondence. ability to read, analyze, and understand general business/company related articles and professional journals; ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
