Summary:
If you are selected as the Fieldwide Facility Engineer, you will be serving as the company engineering representative that provides Anchorage-based support to multiple groups including Operations, Maintenance, Construction, and others. This is a key technical leadership position in assuring the business unit meets overall business goals and objectives in the areas of surface facilities performance and process safety.
This position is an Anchorage-based dedicated facility engineering resource responsible for support of North Slope Facilities and Drill Sites. The partnership with Operations & Maintenance personnel is core to our philosophy of managing process safety.
Your responsibilities may include:
• Supporting HSE goals
• Providing technical guidance and slope/O&M perspective for projects/modifications and to design, engineering, and construction contractors
• Leading facility or drill site assigned project process safety management including MOC, PHA and equipment integrity
• Taking on the project engineering (design, technical review, risk assessments, etc) of assigned scopes of work including site walkdowns, as required
• Reporting on the progress of those facility or drill site projects which are under their primary accountability
• Ensuring compliance with applicable industry codes and regulations and company standards and policies with the support of the company Technical Authorities
• Providing relief support for Site Facility Engineers on an occasional basis, as necessary
• Being available as O&M engineering contact for process or equipment upsets as required
• Identifying, defining, and pursuing opportunities/projects to enhance facility performance in the areas of HSE, cost, and production
• Providing leadership and strong advocacy for process and personal safety through participation in the facility and field safety processes when on site
• Ensures the safe and timely delivery of projects within the agreed budget, quality, and schedule.
• Quickly and accurately determine critical engineering issues, communicate problems effectively to stakeholders and develop solutions to those issues at both existing operations and capital projects.• Performing Risk Assessments as required to comply with the HSE Management System
• This position is based in Anchorage, but routine (~15% of time) trips to Slope are expected.
Basic Required Skills and Experience:
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen or national, or an alien admitted as a permanent resident, refugee or asylee
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or foreign equivalent
• Current/valid driver's license
• 5 years of oil and gas industry experience including gas/oil production, gathering, separation & processing, chemical processing, refining, or related experience
• Willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodation) to travel 15% of the time on a yearly basis
• Requires a strong understanding of discipline.
• Able to apply knowledge and experience to complex problems and develop recommendations.
• Makes decisions within broad parameters.
• Acts as an informal resource for others with less experience.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
• 7 years of oil and gas industry experience including gas/oil production, gathering, separation & processing, chemical processing, refining, pipeline operation, well testing, gas compression and re-injection, corrosion and scale inhibition, water injection, miscible injectant recovery processes, etc.
• 1 years of experience working in PSM (Process Safety Management) facilities
• 1 years of field engineering in a direct maintenance or operations support role
• 1 years of experience in North Slope Operations
• 1 years of experience using sizing relief systems using API 520/521
• Advanced level of proficiency in PHA such as facilitation
• Basic level of proficiency in maintenance management software use (e.g. SAP)
• Basic level of proficiency in process modeling utilizing software such as HYSYS
• Experiencing being Responsible person for completing MOC
• Capable of handling a large volume of diverse tasks
• Adaptable to changes in project scope
• Builds positive relationships based on trust and seeks collaboration across organizational boundaries to achieve goals
Education/Experience: Bachelor's Degree or Higher in Engineering
Pay Range:
The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $75.00 per hour; however, the pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This pay information is being provided pursuant to applicable law and is based in part on market location.
Work Schedule: 9-80 Schedule (9Hr Days)
