Assembler - Shift 2 (2nd Shift)
Location: Ft. Worth, TX
Duration: 6 months contract
Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Assembly/Test Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assembling and testing products to ensure they meet customer quality standards and on-time delivery requirements. This role may involve lockwiring, first-stage subassembly, and final detailing for routine assignments that require limited judgment. The technician will actively contribute to lean initiatives aimed at increasing productivity and reducing costs while working under direct supervisory guidance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform basic assembly and test functions utilizing mechanical skills, hand and power tools, mechanical/electronic tools, test equipment, assembly fixtures, and inspection measurement equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- Record test results on data forms using basic electrical equipment and flow meters.
- Interpret blueprints, engineering orders, assembly routes, test specifications, service bulletins, customer requirements, and quality directives.
- Produce and inspect assemblies to ensure they conform to product specifications, meeting customer and industry standards.
- Conduct touch-up or full surface painting of parts using finishing materials such as paint, lacquer, or glaze. Mix paint and clean parts as needed.
- Actively participate in lean initiatives by identifying and suggesting areas for improvement.
- Follow all safety regulations and maintain a foreign object damage (FOD)-free work area.
- Ensure all equipment is calibrated in accordance with the required calibration schedule.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to use various hand and power tools.
- Experience in assembly, testing, and inspection within a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical documents.
- Basic understanding of electrical equipment and flow meters.
- Knowledge of quality control procedures and industry standards.
- Experience in painting or coating processes is a plus.
- Commitment to safety and lean manufacturing principles.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $16.00 - $17.50 per hour
