In this role you are the guide on operations processes and policies, ensuring compliance with COIMS and maintaining documentation, training, and procedures. They own the execution of the Operations Excellence plan, stepping in for the Senior Manager when needed, and provide stability to the Operations Department. The role drives compliance and safety within the Area Business Teams and 24/7 teams, reducing process safety risk through adherence to operational policies and processes. They also monitor safety and compliance, intervening to improve performance when necessary.

What you’ll do:
- Operationalizes and implements the Operations Excellence Strategy set by the Senior Manager Site Operations in Lima including being responsible to meet key achievements, support the site through LODs, and provide back up to the Senior Manager Site Operations as required
- Monitor Ops excellence metrics and KPIs, analyze data and recommend improvements associated with operations self-verification expectations. Including but not limited to: What if drills, Procedures, Shift Handover, Operator Logs, Operator Rounds, operational readiness for maintenance, and operating limits exceedances. Further to this, reviews these KPIs with Ops Leadership to course correct as required.
- Supports rollout, implementation, and optimization of various Operational Excellence aspects including the C-Notes program, operating rounds, operator care, housekeeping etc.
- Supports ABT (Area Business teams) by collaborating with these teams on operational excellence aspects and influencing these teams and shift teams without authority. This could include things like covering EOC responsibilities (Ops Section Chief), performing LODs to support the site, or leading incident investigations as requested. Also, a required attendee in key morning meetings (STEM, Shift Alignment, DAAM, SAM) to ensure consistency of content/agenda and to provide steer for any changes required
- Collaborates with other Ops Excellence Advisors across Cenovus Downstream to create network opportunities to synergize and harmonize Ops Excellence improvements
- Legally authorized to work in the US
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Additional technical education or equivalent in engineering is desirable
- 8 years’ experience in a petrochemical operations organization
