Job Description: Lot Porter - Volkswagen Auto Dealership

Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Lot Porter to join our Volkswagen Auto Dealership team. As a Lot Porter, you will play a vital role in maintaining an organized and welcoming dealership environment while ensuring the efficient handling of vehicles. Your attention to detail, commitment to cleanliness, and customer service skills will contribute to a positive experience for our valued customers.

Key Responsibilities:

Vehicle Management: Receive, inspect, and park incoming vehicles in designated areas, ensuring they are organized and accessible for customers and staff.

Vehicle Preparation: Prepare new and used vehicles for display and test drives, including cleaning, fueling, and ensuring they are in showroom condition.

Organization: Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the dealership lot, showroom, and surrounding areas, including vehicle display areas, customer waiting areas, and walkways.

Inventory Management: Assist in monitoring and managing vehicle inventory, including conducting regular lot audits and reporting any discrepancies to management.

Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers with locating vehicles, answering questions, and offering assistance as needed.

Support for Sales Team: Assist the sales team with moving vehicles to and from the showroom, service department, and customer delivery areas.

Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations when handling vehicles, including the use of safety equipment and maintaining a hazard-free work environment.

Maintenance Assistance: Assist in minor maintenance tasks such as changing batteries, replacing bulbs, and checking tire pressure as needed.

Documenting Vehicle Information: Maintain accurate records of vehicle movement and condition, including vehicle logs, fuel records, and damage reports.

Vendor Coordination: Coordinate with vendors for services such as detailing, vehicle transport, and maintenance as required.

Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other dealership staff to ensure seamless operations and a positive customer experience.

Adherence to Policies: Follow dealership policies and procedures, including dress code, punctuality, and professionalism.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong commitment to customer service and professionalism.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Basic knowledge of automotive maintenance and vehicle operations is a plus.
• Physical ability to perform tasks that may require lifting, bending, and walking.
• Punctuality and reliability are essential.
• Previous experience as a lot porter or in a similar role within an automotive dealership is preferred but not required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
