What are the responsibilities and job description for the Executive Accounting Assistant position at Center Against Sexual and Family Violence?
Essential Job Functions:
Serve as Accounting / Executive Assistant to Associate Director of Administration and Director of Administration by maintaining records and fulfilling accounting duties as assigned. Provide day to day oversight of office admin/accounting operations.
Assist Director of Administration and Associate Director of Administration with accounting functions to include but not limited to, preparing deposits, accounts payable, filing of AP vouchers, time sheets and grant reconciliation reports and grant invoicing and other accounting related duties.
Data entry, maintain accurate documentation and records in accordance with all grantor policies and CASFV policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned. Evening and weekend work may be required. This is a non-exempt position that requires approval for work in excess of 40 hours per week.
Training and Experience:
Associate degree preferred. Two or more years of accounting or bookkeeping experience is required. You must have excellent computer skills, with exceptional attention to detail. Data entry experience is preferred; computer proficiency in Microsoft applications. Excellent math skills, able to accurately type 40 words a minute and ten-key by touch. You must have your own transportation, a valid Texas driver’s license and current insurance.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:
- Proficiency in QuickBooks accounting software required
- Proficiency in computer applications with concentration in excel worksheets
- Enter data from source documents in timely manner.
- Generate daily, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly donor reports as requested.
- Enter data and maintain a high accuracy rating in alpha/numeric mix.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills.
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of working with volunteers, developing and organizing systems.
- Excellent follow-through and proven skills.
- Should be creative, articulate and diplomatic.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Willingness to work flexible and irregular hours during peak periods.
- Bilingual – English-Spanish required
