What are the responsibilities and job description for the Support Staff/Peer Recovery Specialist-OBOT position at Center for Alcohol and Drug Treatment?
Summary:
The Center is looking for a compassionate and professional Support Staff/PRS member. This individual is the first point of contact for patients in our Office Based Opioid Treatment (OBOT) location so professionalism and excellent customer service skills are a must. Support staff registers patients for intakes and walk-in assessments. They verify patient insurance benefits and navigate MNSure applications as needed. As well as, providing Peer Recovery Specialist services for patients that are a part of the OBOT program, including, advocacy, aligning community support, and finding resources. As well as, inspiring hope among recovering clients.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Patient services:
- Register patients
- Verify and update patient information at every visit
- Assist patients with paperwork
- Answer patient questions and help ensure the highest quality of customer service
- Assist patients with MNSure Applications as needed.
- Verify insurance benefits
- Soft Skills:
- Answer phones and transfer calls to the appropriate staff member needed.
- Customer-oriented communication skills
- Receive and process cash and credit card payments for services rendered
- Patient Records:
- Maintain patient record confidentially in a manner set forth by policy and procedure.
- Upload incoming patient records into the patient's EHR.
- Respond to records request accurately, effectively and in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must have a high school diploma or general education diploma (GED).
- Must have a Peer Recovery Specialist certification, or receive prior to starting.
- Must pass background studies conducted by the Minnesota Department of Human Services.
- Must have current CPR and First Aid certification or obtain it before direct patient contact.
- Preferred one year of experience as a Receptionist or Administrative Assistant;
- Preferred knowledge of HIPAA & patient confidentiality laws.
- Knowledge of Electronic Health Records Systems.
- Experience working with Medical Insurance/Benefits/MNSURE.
- Within 60 days of hire must become MNSURE Certified.
