Job Title : Career Mentor
Job Summary :
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Career Mentor to join our Education, Career and Enrichment department. The Career Mentor will play a crucial role in providing individualized career guidance, support, and resources to participants. This position requires strong communication skills, a passion for career development, and the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with participants and employers.
Shift Hours : Monday-Friday 9am-5pm.
Location Address : 151 Lawrence Street Brooklyn, NY 11201.
Salary : The salary for the Career Mentor is $56,238 per year.
Workplace Flexibility : In Person - (staff roles designated as fully in person are eligible for in- person workplace differential pay).
What you will be doing :
- Follow up on participant referrals made by the Department of Probation to engage youth in programming.
- Maintain partnership with probation officers and provide updates regarding their youth.
- Facilitate job readiness and life skills groups and / or individual sessions.
- Maintain documentation and process participant stipend payments.
- Plan and execute service-learning projects with program participants.
- Refer participants to support services when needed.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation in databases.
- Attend trainings and team meetings.
- Other duties as assigned by Team Leader or Director of Education & Career Services.
