We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Billing Specialist / Revenue Cycle Specialist to ensure accurate claims processing, patient billing, and revenue cycle optimization while working under the oversight of the Operations Manager.

Who You Are:

✔ An experienced medical billing professional with a strong understanding of claims processing, insurance verification, and coding (ICD, CPT).
✔ Detail-oriented and analytical, ensuring timely and accurate billing with minimal denials.
✔ A problem solver, able to investigate billing discrepancies, resolve errors, and optimize revenue flow.
✔ A strong communicator, comfortable working with patients regarding billing inquiries and collections.
✔ Fertility or specialty medical billing experience preferred but not required.

Key Responsibilities

✅ Claims Processing & Insurance Billing

• Translate clinical services into standardized medical codes (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS) to ensure accurate claims submission.
• Submit clean claims to commercial and government payers, ensuring compliance with coding and documentation guidelines.
• Ensure timely posting of payments, adjustments, and denial resolutions.
• Review coding accuracy to prevent errors and optimize reimbursement.

✅ Insurance Verification & Patient Cost Estimates

• Verify insurance benefits before patient visits and ensure correct authorization for fertility procedures.
• Work with financial counselors and front-office staff to generate accurate patient cost estimates.
• Assist with prior authorizations and appeals as needed.

✅ Denial Management & Appeals

• Investigate denied and underpaid claims, resubmitting appeals as necessary.
• Track denial trends and implement process improvements to minimize future claim rejections.
• Work with payers to resolve outstanding accounts receivable (AR) issues.

✅ Patient Billing & Payment Collections

• Communicate with patients regarding billing inquiries, payment options, and outstanding balances.
• Investigate and resolve billing errors, ensuring patient accounts are correct and up to date.
• Collaborate with payment merchants to resolve billing disputes, address discrepancies, and ensure proper handling of payment issues.

✅ Revenue Cycle Optimization & Reporting

• Monitor aging reports, accounts receivable, and outstanding balances to optimize cash flow.
• Identify inefficiencies in billing workflows and implement improvements.
• Collaborate with the Operations Manager to ensure financial performance aligns with clinic goals.

✅ Collaboration & Cross-Training

• Assist in training front-office and billing team members on insurance policies and coding best practices.
• Participate in regular team meetings to review revenue performance and billing updates.

Qualifications

✔ 3 years of experience in medical billing, preferably in fertility, OB/GYN, or procedural specialties.
✔ Proficiency in CPT codes, ICD-10, and payer reimbursement policies.
✔ Experience with claims processing, denials management, and insurance verification.
✔ Strong knowledge of EMRs and billing software.
✔ Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to problem-solve complex billing issues.
✔ Strong communication skills for patient financial counseling and collections.
