Salary Range: $55,000 to $60,000/year, commensurate with education and experience
Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Childcare Enrollment Supervisor to lead a team of Childcare Enrollment Specialists in supporting families in Brooklyn who are seeking childcare assistance. This position requires strong leadership skills, the ability to supervise and develop a team, and experience with performance tracking. The Supervisor will play a key role in overseeing staff performance, ensuring contract goals are met, and fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
I. Key Responsibilities
- Supervision and Team Leadership:
- Conduct individual supervision sessions with Childcare Enrollment Specialists to provide guidance, address performance issues, and foster professional development.
- Lead weekly team meetings to communicate project goals, share updates, and address any concerns or challenges.
- Mentor and support the professional growth of team members, ensuring that they have the tools, training, and resources to be successful.
- Provide regular feedback to staff regarding performance and job expectations.
- Performance Management, and Development:
- Monitor the performance of the Childcare Enrollment Specialists by reviewing their work and tracking progress toward meeting all contract goals.
- Use a data tracking system provided by the Database Manager to track and analyze team performance, ensuring accuracy in reporting and compliance with project requirements.
- Ensure team members are well-informed about the NYC childcare landscape, eligibility requirements, and tools needed to serve families effectively.
- Develop and implement training strategies to improve team skills, ensure compliance with project guidelines, and increase productivity.
- Collaboration, Coordination, and Program Support:
- Collaborate closely with the Childcare Enrollment team and the Database Manager to ensure accurate and timely reporting on the status of childcare enrollments, recertifications, and other project deliverables.
- Coordinate with the fiscal department and other internal teams to ensure smooth operational processes related to tracking and distributing funds.
- Support the team in screening families for eligibility, enrolling providers, and connecting families to the appropriate childcare assistance based on their needs.
- Ensure that the team adheres to program guidelines and supports families in obtaining childcare services.
- Facilitate effective communication within the team and with external partners, including childcare providers and community service organizations.
- Community Engagement and Advocacy:
- Support the team in engaging with the community and advocating for improved access to childcare services for families in need.
- Participate in advocacy efforts and meetings with internal and external stakeholders as needed.
II. Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with relevant experience required
- Minimum of two years of experience in a supervisory or management role in a community-based or social services setting.
- Experience in managing teams, monitoring performance, and using data tracking systems.
- Background in community engagement, direct service, or childcare services preferred.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills with the ability to motivate and support a diverse team.
- Proficient in MS Office tools (Word, Excel) and data entry systems.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), with the ability to engage and motivate staff and external stakeholders.
- Bilingual in Spanish, Mandarin, Creole, Arabic, or Russian is required.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated cultural competence with immigrant communities.
III. RELATIONSHIP WITH OTHERS
- Build and maintain close, daily interactions with co-workers and supervisors
- Effectively communicate with families and outside agency staff

IV. Working Conditions
- This role will require being on-site at the office, with occasional travel to meet families, childcare providers, and community service organizations.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings may be required to accommodate family schedules.
