JOB TITLE : ? Childcare Specialist

REPORTS TO : Project Manager
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION : The Childcare Specialist will assist with a grant-funded project to connect families in Brooklyn to childcare assistance
I. RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to :
- Collaborate with agency staff and community service providers to identify families in need of childcare assistance
- Screen families for eligibility utilizing a standardized tool and complete applications
- Enroll childcare providers in the program and assist them in enrolling children
- Build knowledge / expertise of the NYC childcare landscape in Brooklyn to assist families to connect with childcare as needed
- Determine the appropriate childcare type and setting to meet the family's eligibility and needs
- Conduct yearly recertifications for continuing eligibility and enrollment
- Utilize excellent communication skills to engage families and childcare providers, troubleshoot, and assist them with successfully using assistance
- Conduct visits to childcare providers
- Provide information or referrals for childcare for families who are not deemed eligible for assistance through the project
- Refer all families to CFLSP Benefits Access & Enrollment team, and to other CFLSP programs and resources as needed
- Collaborate with the fiscal department to track and distribute funds
- Track childcare enrollment and recertification
- Maintain project data
- Create and maintain case records for each family and provider
- Attend meetings with the project team, funder, and stakeholders
- Participate in advocacy efforts as requested

The Childcare Specialist utilizes high-level interpersonal and problem-solving skills to identify and screen families for childcare assistance, assist in connecting families with childcare providers as needed, track enrollment, and maintain project data.
SALARY : $42,500 to $45,000 per year, commensurate with education and experience.
