Position Summary:Center For Family Services is seeking a Shift Captain for our Transitions (STAS) program. Transitions is a community-based treatment stabilization and assessment program offering a caring and supportive healing home for New Jersey youth ages 13-17. The Shift Captain will assist in the supervision of the youth and staff and leading a team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides crisis and ongoing counseling to youth, families, and parents.
- Provides supervision of staff and leadership
- Provides group counseling services as required
- Assists in the supervision of shelter youth
- Assists in providing shift coverage and completes shift responsibilities
- Follows and enforces all policies and procedures of the shelter
- Attends program business meetings and other necessary meetings as required
- Provides training for new staff and volunteers
- Meets regularly with program supervisor for time structuring and other evaluative meetings
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or a related field
- Two or more years experience working with the program population
- Licensed Driver for at least three years
- Must pass an initial and ongoing motor vehicle record check evaluations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
