Role Description:
We're looking for a highly skilled and experienced Researcher and Editorial Assistant to help with a book project on food as medicine. This role is essential for synthesizing extensive research, drafting detailed literature reviews, and organizing findings into clear, engaging, and scientifically accurate content.
Key Responsibilities:
- In-depth Research: Conduct comprehensive research on the therapeutic use of food and dietary supplements for various health conditions and to improve healthspan.
- Literature Reviews: Draft detailed academic literature reviews for each section, ensuring that all information is thoroughly researched and supported by scientific evidence.
- Content Development: Integrate research findings into coherent, accessible content that bridges scientific evidence with practical health advice.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the editorial team to ensure content is scientifically robust and reader-friendly.
- Organization: Manage and organize research materials, references, and drafts using Zotero to support the writing and editing process.
- Editorial Assistance: Edit and refine content to ensure clarity, accuracy, and engagement.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Post-doc or recent Ph.D. MD, DrPH graduate from a distinguished institution in science, nutrition, public health, or a related field.
- Disease and Healthspan-Specific Food as Medicine Research and Resource Guides:
- Develop and maintain guides on the impact of food and dietary supplements on various health conditions and longevity.
- Guides will cover conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, anxiety, depression, chronic respiratory diseases, and digestive disorders.
- Updated daily and freely accessible online.
- Provide evidence-based insights to prevent and manage diseases while promoting a longer, healthier life.
- Ensure guides are scientifically robust and practical for healthcare providers and the public.
Food as Medicine Book:
- Assist in creating a comprehensive guide on using food and dietary supplements for better health and longevity.
- Analyze, synthesize, and disseminate the latest scientific evidence on nutrition.
- Provide scientifically backed information for informed dietary choices.
- Focus on integrating food and dietary supplements in disease prevention, treatment, and overall health improvement.

Compensation
You will not receive an hourly consulting fee. Instead, compensation will be based on the specific literature reviews agreed upon (the rate would be approximately $25-30 per hour). We will collaborate for each assigned literature review to agree on the consulting fee in advance. Payment will be based on the completion of these agreed-upon reviews. Any additional tasks outside these pre-approved literature reviews will only be paid if you have written documentation and an agreement in advance. If approved, these tasks will be paid at a consulting fee rate of $25 per hour.
