The Center for Human Development (CHD), is currently seeking a highly motivated Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you'll play a vital role in the accounts receivable aspects of the Accounting (Fiscal Services) department for a large multi-faceted Agency serving people in need of human services.
Your role as an Accounts Receivable Specialist:
The accounts receivable specialist will perform accounts receivable functions including working with our funders, billing, processing of invoices, cash collection, record keeping and month end closing processes. The account receivable specialist will ensure compliance with internal accounting procedures. Maintains accurate records, including ledgers, journals, receipts and invoices. Performs administrative and other tasks as needed. Complies with federal, state, and local requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, record and mail out invoices
- Initiate follow up efforts to collect overdue balances
- Responsible for account reconciliations
- Recording of cash receipts and deposits to the bank
- Records journal entries, and participates in month end closing procedures
- Assists in annual audit schedules
- Special projects as assigned
Success Factors:
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft applications.
- Knowledge of accounting principles, standards and regulations
- Can work independently and collaboratively
- Great interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience in working with accounting software and databases
- Strong time management and organizational skills
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years accounting experience
- Bachelor’s degree or Associates degree and two years’ experience
This is a Full time on-site opportunity at the Corporate Office in Springfield, MA. The pay rate starts at $55,000/annually.
