CHD Children's Programs is seeking a compassionate, patient and committed individual to work in our Medically Complex Foster Care program, assisting our CHD foster parents to care for medically fragile infants and children, who are referred by the Department of Children and Families (DCF).
The medical foster homes are located in Springfield Massachusetts , we currently have three homes. This position will rotate between the homes to help support the foster parents and provide care for the children.
Responsibilities include :
- Monitors children's behavior through direct observation and staff reports
- Interacts directly with children in order to assess needs, provide information, discuss problems, set limits and encourage growth and development
- Ensures medication and care are properly administered and documented in accordance with program policies
- Assisting with activities of daily living.
- Light housekeeping duties.
- Transporting to medical appointments and parent child visits.
The program also offers activities for the children in our care and staff will assist with these outings.
Hours : Weekday hours 8am-4pm / 10am-6pm and Some Saturdays
2-4 years of Pediatric experience preferred.
Candidates must pass a CORI, SORI and Driver's Record Check. Must have a vehicle for transporting
