The ideal candidate will provide service and support to members of the Center for Immunology by determining and performing appropriate bioinformatic analysis of data generated through high complexity techniques, developing new methodology and tools for analysis, and/or defining improvements for existing systems and tools.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, refine, and optimize bioinformatic workflows and analytical tools for analyzing and visualizing NGS and spatial transcriptomics and proteomics data
- Adapt standard bioinformatics tools, visualization packages, and NGS database/annotation resources for research projects to independently and accurately perform routine analysis
- Perform validation of new procedures, protocols, software, and translational medicine projects
- Independently perform routine bioinformatics analyses, including differential expression analysis, clustering, pathway enrichment, and integration of multi-omics datasets
- Work closely with multidisciplinary research teams to deliver actionable insights and support experimental design through computational analyses
- Contribute to publications by providing figures, tables, and text to accurately illustrate analytical methods and results
- Validate. new computational methods and pipelines for translational research projects, ensuring compliance with institutional standards, and NIH standards, and project-specific needs
- Operate and troubleshoot key analytic tools; operate and maintain essential bioinformatics software and computational pipelines, troubleshoot tools and scripts as needed to ensure smooth project progress
- Operate, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment
- Perform other duties as needed or indicated by supervisor
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree in Bioinformatics, Genetics, or Biology preferred
Experience: Minimum 2 years working with multi-omic data analyses including genomic, proteomic, single-cell transcriptomic, and/or metabolomic analysis preferred. Appropriate experience may be substituted for education on an equivalent basis.
