Auto Technology Teacher
Job Description
- Qualified applications must possess a Chapter 74 license in Auto Technology or meet the qualifications for licensure.
- Eligibility requirements for licensure will include: A high school diploma or equivalent, Five years of recent full time auto mechanic work experience (within the last ten years).
- Possession of or working toward possession of Automotive Services Excellence (ASE) certification in at least six areas of automotive technology.
- Ability to achieve a passing score on the Vocational Technical Literacy Skills Test (VTEL) or achieve a passing score on the Communication and Literacy Skills Test (MTEL).
- Preliminary or provisional licensure as an Auto Technology teacher through the Dept. of Elementary & Secondary Education (DESE), or meet the requirements necessary to obtain licensure as an Auto Technology Teacher.
- Ability to relate with and mentor teenage auto technician students.
- Teaching experience at the high school level (Preferred)
- Basic computer skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to cooperate with fellow teachers & administrators.
