SUMMARY
The Annual Giving and Events Manager is responsible for implementing a dynamic annual giving strategy, leading high-impact fundraising events, and cultivating a broad community of support that reflects the values of our organization.
Working in partnership with the Chief Development Officer and Development team, this position will help ensure the success of fundraising goals through pipeline, appeals and events, while building authentic relationships with donors, and strengthening CTL’s financial sustainability through strong stewardship and disciplined recordkeeping.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Annual Giving and Fund Development (70%)
- Implement the individual giving portion of CTL’s annual fundraising plan to meet or exceed annual revenue goals.
- Cultivate and steward a portfolio of individual donors (75–100), deepening their connection to CTL’s mission through personalized outreach and engagement, primarily through in-person or phone-based contact, augmented by email and other electronic communication per donor preferences.
- Collaborate with the Chief Development Officer and Development team to build donor pipelines, manage appeals, and implement donor recognition strategies.
- Develop and execute direct mail and digital campaigns that inspire generosity and reflect the voices of the community we serve.
- Support the cultivation of corporate partners, major donors, and prospects who align with CTL’s vision of equity and transformation.
- Maintain accurate donor records and reports through CTL’s CRM database and ensure timely acknowledgements.
- Oversee donor events and experiences that connect the community to CTL’s mission in meaningful ways.
Events Management (20%)
- Plan and execute CTL’s signature fundraising events, including the annual Transforming Lives Luncheon, in collaboration with staff, volunteers, and contractors.
- Lead event planning engagement with the Development Committee for quarterly appeals and ensure that all events reflect the integrity, impact, and vision of CTL’s work.
- Manage budgets, timelines, sponsorships, and logistics to deliver exceptional experiences that drive both revenue and mission awareness.
Organizational Support and Leadership (10%)
- Partner with colleagues across departments to align fundraising messages with program outcomes and stories of impact.
- Participate in staff meetings, donor strategy sessions, and cross-departmental collaborations to ensure a cohesive and mission-aligned approach.
- Support special projects including capital campaigns, the Annual Fund, and endowment growth as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred and/or directly related professional skills and experience.
- Minimum of two years of fundraising experience in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization.
- Demonstrated success managing donor portfolios, cultivating donor relationships, and organizing donor-centered events.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to connect authentically with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Experience using donor management systems and data analysis to inform strategy and stewardship. Experience with Boomerang database a plus.
- Willingness to learn and follow Benevon fundraising model.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail.

Additional Requirements
- Ability to work evenings and weekends for events and community engagement activities as needed in addition to regular work week.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
