What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Director position at CENTER FOR URBAN COMMUNITY SVC?
The Center for Urban Community Services, a national leader in the development of effective housing and service initiatives for homeless people, invites applications for a Program Director position. CUCS provides comprehensive on-site social services using a recovery orientation, which includes evidence based practices with particular emphasis on mental health and substance abuse recovery for singles, and a family systems approach for the families.
Responsibilities:
During the initial start up of the program, the Program Director will be directly involved in hiring, tenant intake and start up operations planning and processes. On an ongoing basis, the Program Director is responsible for managing the daily operations of the program, ensuring contract compliance, and meeting or exceeding goals and other performance measures required by funders. This position has significant decision making, supervisory, administrative, program management and service delivery responsibilities, including inter-team coordination and contract, regulatory and policy compliance. Additionally, this individual will be responsible for maintaining good relations with funders and stakeholders, housing partners and developing and maintaining a program culture that is person centered, outcome oriented and dedicated to continuous quality improvement.
The Uptown Scattered Site Program has staff offices located in the CUCS main office in East Harlem. Clients live in congregate and scattered site apartments in Harlem, Washington Heights and the Bronx. The program is funded by DOHMH and serves people with mental illness.
The Program Director position requires someone with strong clinical skills, strong computer skills, and a good sense of attention to detail.
