The Center for Women and Families – Program Services Specialist

The Center for Women and Families is looking for compassionate and skilled individuals driven by a desire to help others! The Program Services Specialist will play a critical role in providing support and advocacy to survivors in the Empowerment Program (EP).
The Center for Women and Families provides free services to anyone who has experienced intimate partner violence and sexual assault. We help our clients and their dependent children become survivors through trauma-informed advocacy. Our goal is to mitigate the impact of trauma by reducing risk factors and building resiliency. We serve anyone in Jefferson, Bullitt, Spencer, Shelby, Oldham, Henry, and Trimble counties in Kentucky and Floyd and Clark counties in Indiana.
The Program Services Specialist is responsible for overseeing the Empowerment Program (EP) by developing, coordinating, and facilitating initiatives that support survivors of intimate partner and sexual violence. This position collaborates with internal staff, leadership, and community partners to ensure a continuum of care that enhances survivor advocacy and program success.

Duties and Responsibilities
Program Development and Coordination
- Research and implement program initiatives that strengthen survivor advocacy and support.
- Identify and establish partnerships with community organizations to expand program activities.
- Develop and promote services tailored to Empowerment Program participants.
- Collaborate with direct care staff to create referral procedures for program enrollment.
- Work with senior leadership to evaluate and improve program outcomes and data collection processes.
Facilitation and Coordination
- Co-lead and coordinate the Survivor Advisory Council.
- Work with staff and volunteers to support program activities.
- Facilitate presentations and workshops internally and externally at The Center and partner locations.
- Assist in external affairs efforts to enhance program visibility and community outreach.
Documentation and Compliance
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with agency and funder guidelines.
- Comply with state reporting requirements for abuse and neglect.
- Utilize secure and approved technology to ensure confidentiality.
Community Engagement and Partnerships
- Foster relationships with community coalitions, committees, and workgroups.
- Communicate referral processes and program services to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with leadership to enhance community engagement efforts.
Training and Development
- Participate in professional development, coaching, and job-related training.
- Contribute to a supportive and collaborative team culture.
- Stay current on research and best practices relevant to the role.
Additional Responsibilities
- Provide supportive counseling, advocacy, and resource connections as needed.
- Engage in team and agency meetings, and provide orientation for staff, volunteers, and community partners.
- Support grant compliance efforts and program development initiatives.
Qualifications
- Vocational/Technical/Business School or equivalent required.
- 3-5 years of experience in program development or a related field preferred.
- Proficiency in Office 365 and other basic technology tools.
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet agency automobile insurance standards.
- Commitment to completing 16 hours of continuing education annually, with 6 hours specific to sexual assault.
