The Center for Workforce Inclusion is recruiting for an Administrative Support Specialist position within the Senior Environmental Employment (SEE) Program through a grant administered program which provides support to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in Edison, NJ. Successful candidates must meet the age criteria of being 55 years of age or older and eligible to work in the United States. Selected candidates will also be required to undergo a federal security background check.
Role and Responsibilities: Position will perform analytical and technical lead-based paint support functions that will support the Regional Training Provider Coordinator and the Regional Lead (Pb) Coordinator. Position will also assist with carrying out special projects as assigned and with coordinating programmatic functions.
Duties include:
- Prepare, review, and analyze over 2,000 individual lead-based paint abatement and state reciprocity applications, as well as over 60 training provider accreditation and re-accreditation applications for abatement and RRP in over 250 courses in four (4) different languages.
- Assists the Regional Training Provider Coordinator with organizing quarterly training provider conference calls and annual meetings to the regulated community and file management.
- Advises the Regional Lead (Pb) Coordinator on recommended actions and facilitates regional and community engagement projects.
- Manage, evaluate, and respond to written inquiries from the public, individual applicants, and firms.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements: Successful candidates must meet the age criteria of being 55 years of age or older and eligible to work in the United States; able to pass a Federal Background check; HS-GED; 5-10 years’ experience in administrative, Program Analysis, or Operations. Candidates should possess demonstrated ability to organize, manage; multi-task, problem solving, oral and written communication, interpersonal skills. critical thinking, group and individual projects, time management, data analyzing, filing, community engagement, and presentation development. Experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook; Word. Requires strong skills in facilitating/organizing meetings such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, etc., written/oral communication, file management, and independent work ability. Familiarity with or bilingual in Spanish, Polish or Russian is helpful.
Hours & Compensation: Full-Time position working 40 hours per week @ $19.21 per hour. Hybrid work schedule plus benefits including paid health insurance and generous vacation, sick and holidays.
