The Center for Workforce Inclusion is recruiting for a Financial and Administrative Assistant position in the grant-administered Senior Environmental Employment (SEE) Program to work at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) based in Washington, DC.
Role and Responsibilities:
This position will provide Financial/Accounting Data Entry and Administrative/Operational Support to EPA's Office of Transportation and Air Quality (OTAQ), Transportation and Climate Division (TCD) by professionally completing a variety of tasks, including:
Financial/Data Entry
- Analyzes data from various internal and external sources, and research issues found in the analysis, and provides recommendations for complying with financial, legal, and/or administrative requirements in accordance with division policies and guidelines.
- Independently runs weekly financial and status of funds reports, highlighting anomalies and researching issues, as needed.
- Tracks ongoing expenditures, identifies complex financial issues, and escalates or seeks assistance as needed, within the Team.
- Works effectively and professionally with staff to resolve financial accounting issues.
- Provides training, as needed, on financial systems.
Administrative Operations
- Performs travel backup support for staff, including creating travel authorizations, vouchers, and other travel documents.
- Provides direct administrative, clerical, and calendar management duties for the Division.
- Assists with and coordinates the preparation of meeting agendas and presentation materials for the Division.
- Provides clerical support such as filing, record-keeping, and operating standard office equipment; prepares and maintains accurate records (both hard-copy and electronic).
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Must be a United States Citizen and able to pass a Federal Background check; Age 55 ; possess an associate degree, certificate, or equivalent; 5 years of related financial/accounting data entry and administrative/office operations support experience; knowledge of financial, accounting, and budget concepts and application to business processes; ability to run financial and reconciliation reports; experienced and skilled in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel; strong verbal and written communication skills.
Hours & Compensation:
Full‐time position working up to 40 hours per week @ $39,957 per year ($19.21 per hour), plus benefits including employer-paid health insurance and generous vacation/sick/holiday leave.
