What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intake Counselor position at Center Point - DAAC?
- Conduct evaluation assessments and determine admission criteria for residential and outpatient treatment
- Provide direct treatment, facilitate education and process groups, and collect urinalysis tests
- Maintain accurate client files, case notes, and daily records
- Respond to community inquiries, provide written reports, and participate in staff meetings
- Coordinates with medical service providers to ensure clients receive all required medical care as needed.
- Coordinates with mental health service providers to ensure all necessary care and medication is provided as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Valid registration or certification in Substance Abuse Counseling from an accredited institution (CCAPP, CAADE, CADTP)
- 2 years of experience in outpatient substance abuse treatment or related field
- Experience in intake and admissions, with knowledge of admission criteria and procedures
- Bilingual Spanish/English preferred
- Current certification in CPR and First Aid
- Valid California Driver's License
- Knowledge of evidence-based treatment modalities and counseling techniques
- Experience with evidence-based substance abuse treatment models and an understanding of treatment modalities
- Knowledge of community resources and services
- Knowledge of drug and alcohol addiction and trauma-informed care
- Ability to do data entry into various electronic systems

- Must be able to pass and maintain fingerprinting and background checks with no violent or sexual crimes, and no crimes involving children or fraud
