Position Overview:
  • Typically, you'll work a Monday-Friday day schedule but will need the flexibility to come in on the weekend or after hours as needed. 
  • Pay range for this position is $70k-$75k depending on experience and come with a full suite of benefits.
  • Reporting to the Executive Director, as the Program Director, you will act as a strong and positive presence on site, responsible for supervising, developing and planning activities and services that enhance the quality of life for the clients (patients) we serve.
  • You will be directly responsible for overseeing a staff of Program Assistants, accountable for a group of adolescent clients within Hillcrest's residential treatment program.
Addition responsibilities include:
Tours and Intakes: When a prospective new client visits the facility, the Program Director (PD) hosts the tour, advocates for the program elements and therapeutic setting, and ensures that the tour is an exceptional experience that leads to the client selecting Hillcrest Adolescent Treatment Center for their care.
When a new client comes to the facility, you will be their first point of contact, helping them fill out paperwork, acclimating them to the daily program, arranging and coordinating psychiatric appointments, and ensuring group sessions are smoothly led by Program Assistants, etc.
  • Family Liaison: You will act as a liaison between clients and their families on program matters, excluding clinical matters, and provide information about the program.
  • Chart Audits: Daily, you will chart reviews of Program Assistant-led sessions, ensuring group sessions are properly documented and entered into the client’s electronic medical record in a timely fashion.
  • Ensure Client Safety and Comfort: You will oversee Program Assistants to ensure a high quality of work, proper safety and line of sight protocols, and a welcoming and healing environment are provided.
  • Maintain a Strong Program Assistant Team: You will hire, orient, train, coach, correct, and exit Program Assistant team members to ensure a cohesive, welcoming, high-performing team. Additionally, you will support and advocate for staff career development opportunities to support the retention of talented and committed team members.
  • Teamwork: Support all operations and functions of Hillcrest Adolescent Treatment Center to ensure a cohesive and favorable client and employee experience; take on new, temporary or permanent work assignments; provide urgently needed support and assistance, whether specifically assigned or not.
  • Ensure license and accreditation compliance: You must maintain current Group Home Administrator certification and/or other certifications as designated; ensure all operations and functions are survey-ready and prepared for unscheduled LPA/auditor visits. 
To be successful in this role you will:
To meet the requirements as defined by Title 22, you must have one of the following combinations of education and experience:
  • Master’s degree in a behavioral science field, plus at least (1) one year of experience as a social worker in an agency serving children or in a group residential program; or
  • Bachelor’s degree, plus at least (1) one year of experience in an administrative or supervisory capacity over social work, childcare, and/or support staff providing direct services to children in an agency or in a community care facility with a licensed capacity of seven or more; or
  • Associate degree, plus at least (2) two years of experience in an administrative or supervisory capacity over social work, childcare, and/or support staff providing direct services to children in an agency or in a community care facility with a licensed capacity of seven or more; or
  • High school diploma or GED, plus at least (3) three years of experience in an administrative or supervisory capacity over social work, childcare, and/or support staff providing direct services to children in an agency or in a community care facility with a licensed capacity of seven or more.
In addition, you will have the following skills and abilities:
  • 1 year of experience in management / leadership role, preferably in a mental health treatment environment. 
  • A valid California driver’s license and the ability to pass and maintain a clean driving record check (MVR) in accordance with our company standards.  
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required; ability to establish and maintain rapport with a diverse array of personalities and conditions.
  • Basic computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, email, calendar, slide presentations, Internet, etc.; experience with EMR system(s) is a plus.
  • The ability to lift and carry light objects and parcels as an incidental part of the job is required.
  • First aid and CPR certification required.
  • Must have or be willing to attain  Group Home Administrator certification.
  • Previous experience conducting regular group sessions preferred.
