General Summary: Under direction, assists clients with maintaining their jobs and works with the IE Team to ensure the services reflect clients’ needs, abilities and employment goals. This individual will coach, support and monitor clients in the initial stages of employment and maintain relations with employers. The job coach is expected to keep up with changes in the field, have current knowledge of the local job market, and together with their colleagues, develop and maintain innovative programming that achieves the highest standards in employment practices. This position requires flexibility and may include some weekend and evening work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Uphold and honor the Mission, Vision, and Core Values of Centerforce.
  • Responsible for the highest quality of customer service delivery for participants and employers.
  • Respect consumer rights, and report any and all suspected abuse.
  • Maintain and demonstrate professional behavior, strong adaptive communicative skills, cooperative attitude, and growth mindset that supports the policies of CF, thus, being a role model for fellow staff, as well as clients.
  • Coordinate with other departments to assist client's transition to community based employment.
  • Work with individual clients facilitating employment and marketing activities designed to maintain clients in their current positions.
  • Serve as the liaison between employer and clients for workplace support, additional training, or problem solving.
  • Assist clients in working with their employers for increased hours/wages, as appropriate.
  • Work as a team to provide coverage, support, and assistance for assigned clients, and other departments, as assigned.
  • Accurately document all contacts and services provided (phone calls, emails, face to face) in SetWorks in accordance with all agency, funding and certification requirements. Service events must address plan objectives. (documentation is to be completed by close of business each Friday).
  • Maintain a working knowledge of, and follow, agency policies and procedures including accurately recording your work time daily.
  • Provide timely responses (3 days or less) to internal requests for information. For example, a request from case managers, as well as for external requests for information.
  • Participate in agency planning, goal setting, and problem solving.
  • Attend all department and agency staff meetings.
  • There may be times when you will be required to assist with job development activities for clients.
  • Performs related duties as assigned, or as the situation dictates. Evening and/or weekend hours will be required.
  • Develop relationships with employers to ensure successful job placement for clients. Update employment information Setworks.
  • Assist with agency marketing and development activities designed to increase public awareness and support of our mission and services. Attend and represent CF at a variety of meetings and events, as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of service delivery for individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • The ability to read and interpret documents such as policies, safety rules, procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write accurate and professional reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to work effectively with participants and their support individuals, subordinates, co-workers, supervisors, as well as employers, and other external customers.
  • Knowledge of marketing and business development activities.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups or customers, employees, employers and other business groups.Speaks clearly and persuasively in all situations, listens and asks questions to gain clarification, responds well to questions, participates in meetings, and demonstrates group presentation skills, as appropriate.
  • Ability to respond appropriately to inquiries or complaints from customers, residential, and/or other professionals.
  • Proficient in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office products to include using programs for email correspondence, task management, scheduling meetings, recurring reminders, and designing and/or use of Google Sheets.
  • Maintain current CPR/First Aid, HIV, Bloodborne Pathogen certifications & training.
  • Meets challenges with resourcefulness and generates suggestions for improving one's own work, as well as the work of others.
  • Contributes to building a positive team spirit by putting the success of the team above own interests, and provides, as well as welcomes feedback, to support everyone's efforts to succeed.
  • Works independently within general guidelines, accountable, punctual, communicative, meets productivity standards, completes work in a timely manner, and manages attendance to meet work requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability of time management, problem solving, planning skills, prioritizing, and meeting deadlines.
  • An AA or Bachelor's Degree is preferred along with paid work experience. A high school diploma or GED with some college coursework or related work experience is required. Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include weekends and evenings.
  • Valid driver's license, proof of vehicle insurance, dependable vehicle, and a good driving record.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $24.00 per hour
