The Fabrication CAD Technician will use computer-aided design (CAD) software to create detailed drawings and layouts for exhibits ensuring accuracy and meeting production and installation needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create detailed and visually appealing drawings, including presentation drawings, shop drawings, and instructions for production teams, sales teams and outside vendors.
- Work closely with the CNC department providing 2D drawing files.
- Proficiently use industry-standard CAD software like Vectorworks and AutoCAD to create 2D and 3D models.
- Ensure accuracy by verifying drawings meet quality and technical standards.
- Provide technical support and troubleshoot issues related to fabrication design projects.
- Maintain organized records of designs, revisions, and updates.
- Possess a strong understanding of cabinetry and exhibit construction principles, materials, and installation techniques.
- Collaborate with designers, project managers, and the production team to ensure projects are accurate and meet deadlines.
- Assisting with other assigned tasks.
What we're looking for:
- At least two years of related experience in fabrication.
- Formal training or education in drafting is preferred.
- Must have a high mechanical aptitude and be able to visualize solutions during construction drawing development
- Proficient in CAD software or related software.
- Understanding of drafting principles and standards.
- Familiarity with exhibit and/or cabinetry construction, materials, and installation techniques.
- Exhibit booth building experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn about the project or product being developed.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
