Position Summary: Tradeshow Industry - Manage a book of clients with Sr. Account Executive, identifying client needs and collaborating with cross-functional internal and external teams to deliver solutions. Execute client projects from beginning to end with a sense of urgency and excellence that fuels on-going and future business opportunities. Act as a strategic client needs professional with a passion for outstanding client service, innovation, and thoughtfulness.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Lead day-to-day business objectives and manage on-going projects for current clients in a highly collaborative environment.
- Meet with clients frequently, serving as a primary contact and problem-solver between clients and all internal departments and vendor partners.
- Understand client trade show or event strategy and present creative design and budget proposals with Sr. Account Executive, assuring all components are aligned with brand and project objectives.
- Once clients’ needs are ascertained, manage multiple projects, schedule changes and impeding deadlines.
- Develop schedules and project estimates for all client projects
- Monitor client project costs and ensure healthy company profit margins.
- Work closely with internal departments to ensure the smooth flow of communication.
- Develop working knowledge of the clients’ inventory, graphics and booth assets.
- Have a deep knowledge of trade show systems, techniques, manufacturing and printing methods to best facilitate solutions to fit client needs.
- Become uniquely familiar with clients’ yearly trade show and event schedules.
- Facilitate project costs, invoice, secure payment terms and resolve billing disputes.
- Evaluate tradeshow/event results with clients and make constructive recommendations for future events.
- Identify additional business opportunities with existing clients.
Required skills/Abilities:
- A positive team player with outstanding client relationship-building and networking skills.
- A deep and wide knowledge of various trade show implementation techniques to include, but not be limited to: Exhibit Extrusion and System Components, Printing Methods and Practices, Audio Visual Solutions, Logistics and Shipping Management, Theatrical Lighting, Hanging Signs
- Proven success in customer service and project management.
- Connect and engage with a variety of personalities from the client, vendors and internal organization.
- Proven ability to meet and exceed revenue goals through managing vendors, clients and onsite event support.
- Effectively manage budgets for multiple projects.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to confidently lead and communicate (written and orally) with clients and internal staff.
- Superior problem-solving skills and a quick thinker.
- Ability to make tough decisions independently with initiative.
- Anticipate obstacles and have a sense of urgency.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (specifically Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook).
- Sales is not a need for this position. However, the ability to identify client needs and suggest appropriate solutions that lead to future sales is.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Business Administration, or related field, or comparable record of sales leadership experience required.
- Undergraduate degree in marking, communications, advertising, public relations, or another equivalent area of study.
- 7-10 years of account management/project management experience in theTradeshow or event industry.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Travel to client tradeshow/events required with the ability to work extended hours and weekends when necessary. Expected travel to be up to 30% of total work time.
