The CenterState Corporation for Economic Opportunity (CenterState CEO) seeks a dynamic and strategic leader to serve as the Executive Director of the The Greater Syracuse Business Development Corporation (GSBDC). This role involves acting as the manager of the certified development corporation while providing strategic leadership to achieve GSBDC’s mission and the Board’s vision, overseeing all aspects of program marketing, loan production, processing, servicing, and liquidation. The ideal candidate will maintain strong relationships with the SBA, lending partners, and economic development organizations, identify funding opportunities, and manage fundraising activities. Additionally, they will foster relationships with community stakeholders, design programs supporting community development, ensure financial stability, and lead and mentor staff. This full-time position requires travel within Central New York, with flexible working hours.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities : (Additional duties may be assigned)
- Provide strategic leadership for the development and achievement of GSBDC’s mission and the Board’s vision.
- Work closely with the Board of Directors and CenterState CEO leadership to ensure alignment with organizational goals and policies.
- Act as lead business development officer to identify and bring in new clients for 504 loans and other GSBDC revolving loan products.
- Oversee all program marketing, loan production, processing, servicing and liquidation.
- Maintain a strong working relationship with the SBA, lending partners and economic development organizations.
- Partner to identify funding opportunities and manage fundraising activities.
- Foster relationships with community stakeholders, local businesses, and government agencies.
- Design and oversee programs that support community development and economic growth.
- Ensure financial stability and accountability of the GSBDC.
- Lead and mentor staff, promoting a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Represent the organization at public events, meetings, and media engagements.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
- Track and report on the effectiveness of programs and initiatives.

Supervisory Responsibility
Would have some supervisory oversight to other positions within GSBDC.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work can be flexible as agreed to by portfolio leads.
Travel
Travel is required to meet with businesses in New York State. Mileage and travel expenses will be reimbursed.
Requirements :
Minimum Required Education and Experience :
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Banking, Accounting or related field and / or commensurate industry trainingA minimum of seven or more years to include commercial loan structuring, credit analysis, business development and familiarity of SBA loan structuring.
