We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support the transition from product design to scalable manufacturing. This role will focus on developing efficient assembly processes, creating clear manufacturing documentation, performing quality inspections, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Assembly & Process Development:
- Design and optimize assembly processes for strength and cardio fitness equipment.
- Create tooling, jigs, fixtures, and workstation layouts using SolidWorks.
- Participate in prototype builds and oversee pilot production runs.
- Write detailed Manufacturing Work Instructions (MWIs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs), part specifications, and engineering change orders.
- Ensure documentation aligns with production and quality standards.
- Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections.
- Support product testing for durability, load capacity, and user safety.
- Work with quality teams to resolve issues through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Provide input on material selection (steel, plastics, coatings, etc.) based on performance and cost.
- Coordinate with testing labs for compliance (e.g., EN 20957, ASTM, mechanical safety testing).
- Review test results and make recommendations for design or process improvements.
- Work closely with product managers, industrial designers, engineers, and suppliers.
- Support new product introductions, engineering changes, and production scale-up.
- Collaborate across departments to drive manufacturability, cost efficiency, and quality.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
- 3 years of experience in manufacturing, ideally with fitness equipment or consumer products.
- Proficient in SolidWorks for modeling, assemblies, and fixture/tooling design.
- Familiar with quality tools, inspection methods, and manufacturing best practices.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards for fitness products (EN 20957, ASTM) is a plus.
