What are the responsibilities and job description for the Education Coordinator RN Surgical Services-LGH-FT position at Centra Medical Group?
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for managing individualized patient care by promoting and restoring patients' health in accordance with medical and nursing plans of care and established policies and procedures. The Registered Nurse collaborates with physicians and multidisciplinary team members in the development, execution, and evaluation of the multidisciplinary plan of care. The RN maintains a safe care environment for their patients (clients) and delivers quality care. Provides nursing services to patients and families in accordance with the scope of the RN as defined by the Virginia Board of Nursing.
The RN Education Coordinator is a registered nurse who collaborates with Surgical Services employees and managers in assessing, planning, implementing orientation, continuing education of staff and in-service education programs at the unit and divisional level. Assist management with assessment of clinical areas and implementing programs that enhance safety. The education coordinator assists with implementing evidence-based improvements that enhance efficiency.
Required Education: Graduate of a school of nursing, Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) (degree combinations may be accepted, e.g., RN with BS and RN with BA)
Preferred Education: Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN)
Required Experience: : Minimum of three (3) years of experience in Operating Room and/or perianesthesia nursing units. Computer Skills, including word processing, data base management, and presentation software with excellent organization skills.
Preferred Experience: Some experience in the education field
Required Certifications and Licensures: Hold a current, active license as a registered nurse in Virginia or hold a current multistate licensure privilege as a registered nurse
Preferred Certifications and Licensures: Preferred Certification: CNOR, CPAN or Surgical related certification
