What are the responsibilities and job description for the Regional Coordinator Emergency Management And Life Safety position at Centra Medical Group?
Works in the Emergency Management and Life Safety Department. All department members are responsible for the development, standardization, implementation, and management of the Centra Health Emergency Management, Environment of Care, and Life Safety Programs. Position coordinates emergency management, life safety, and safety activities for an assigned region which includes hospital, non-acute health care and business locations. Department members will be available to support each other in the response to emergency and disaster events, on emergency management and safety projects, and provide emergency management and safety coverage in the absence of a department member.
Required Education: Associates degree in Safety Management, Emergency Management, Occupational Safety, Business, or related area of study
Preferred Education: Bachelors degree
Required Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in hospital-based emergency management, life safety, safety, or related health care discipline. Military or civil emergency response experience may be considered in lieu of hospital experience
Preferred Experience: Experience with hospital regulatory and accreditation compliance preferred
Required Certifications and Licensures:
Preferred Certifications and Licensures: CEM - Certified emergency manager CHSP, Certified Healthcare safety professional. CHEP- Certified healthcare emergency professional relevant certifications in a related field.
Participates in the administration of the Emergency Management (EM) Program. This includes: Review and revision of the EM written management plan, ) Review and updating of the Focused Standards Assessment (FSA), and Development of annual goals, performance indicators/emergency management process improvement projects.
Participates on the Centra Health Disaster Response Team. logistical support to hospitals, non-acute health care locations in the event of an emergency/disaster.
Coordinates completion of the Hazard Vulnerability Analysis (HVA) reviews with local/regional partners.
Coordinates annual review/sustainability assessment of the emergency management resources/assets to ensure accountability/proper procurement, storage, maintenance/training requirements.
Coordinates emergency management education/training to include: Hospital incident Command System (HICS), hazardous material spill response/decontamination, evacuation equipment, communication systems/other subject areas as needed.
Participates in the review, revision/distribution of the Emergency Operations Plan (EOP), Emergency Action Plans (EAPs), and Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) incident response guides, job action sheets/forms.
Participates on the Centra Health Emergency/Disaster Drill/Exercise Team. Organizes, implements/documents emergency/disaster drills and exercises (tabletop, functional/full scale). Coordinates/documents hot-washes, After-Action Reviews (AARs)/ Improvement Plans.
Coordinates with/regularly attends meetings with state, regional/local emergency management/response organizations.
Participates in the application process for federal, state, and local emergency management grants/contracts. Provides oversight to ensure that all grant deliverables are completed/purchased equipment/supplies are maintained ready for use.
