The Manager of Contracting & Purchased Services is a strategic leadership role responsible for leading the team in pursuit of optimal patient outcomes, maximum value, and minimal risk through the consistent application of industry best practices. This role serves as a contracting advisor, gathering market knowledge, and assisting in the selection, negotiation, execution, and administration of agreements that bring value and reduce risk to the organization. Across all business units, this team handles 30 different types of agreements, ranging from supplies and equipment to consulting and business associate agreements.
This position sets priorities for purchased services contracting strategies and processes while supervising the daily activities of Contracting and Purchased Services staff for the enterprise, including CentraCare Health and Carris Health. The contracting process includes requests for proposals (RFP), negotiation, implementation, utilization, and compliance monitoring. It seeks organizational value by identifying and acting upon opportunities for new and/or improved contracts.
The Manager actively engages with stakeholders to analyze proposals for value and alignment with the mission and vision of the enterprise. Contracts are negotiated in collaboration with appropriate stakeholders to ensure alignment with organizational goals. Additionally, this role is responsible for developing, monitoring, and improving departmental KPIs, GPO metrics, and industry benchmarks with the intent of achieving and maintaining a world-class supply chain operation at CentraCare.
This position will strategically align with the CentraCare strategic plan and the Quadruple Aim, ensuring that quality, outcomes, and cost remain at the forefront of daily work. By prioritizing these elements, the team will drive sustainable improvements that benefit patients, staff, and the organization as a whole.
All leadership roles within Contracting & Procurement are responsible for continuous improvement, staff development, and demonstrating measurable results. This role also supports and implements patient safety and other safety practices as appropriate and demonstrates Family Centered Care principles when interacting with patients, their families, and colleagues.
Schedule:
- Full-time | 80 hours every two weeks
- Days | 8-hour shifts | 7am-4:30pm
Pay and Benefits:
- Starting pay begins at $88,522.82 per year; exact wage determined by years of related experience
- Salary range: $88,522.82 - $132,805.61 per year
- Salary and salary range are based on a 1.0 FTE, reduced FTE will result in a prorated offer rate

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business management, or related field; 10 years of experience in supply chain (sourcing, contracting, value analysis) can be substituted in lieu of education
- 7 years of supply chain experience (sourcing, contracting, value analysis) is required, experience in healthcare industry preferred
- Certified Materials & Resource Professional licensure required within 18 months from date of hire
- Proven track record of developing and maintaining high-performing teams
- Comfortable with presenting and public speaking
- Adept ad developing and executing plans
- Self-motivated and able to work both independently and collaboratively
