What are the responsibilities and job description for the Translator/Interpreter position at CentraCare?
Find your purpose with CentraCare working as an Interpreter/Translator at our Long Prairie Clinic! In this role, you will be responsible for providing interpreter services as well as providing technical/clerical support. You will provide language services to health care patients with limited English proficiency by helping them communicate with doctors, nurses, and other medical/nonmedical staff. As an Interpreter, you will enable the delivery of appropriate, quality medical care to non-English speaking members of the community.
SCHEDULE:
- Part time | 48 hours every two weeks | Long Prairie Clinic
- Various working hours between 7am - 7pm | Monday - Friday
PAY & BENEFITS:
- Starting pay begins at $21.01 per hour and increases with experience
- Pay range: $21.01-31.52 per hour

QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Successfully pass English/Spanish language Medical Terminology exam prior to hire
- Successful completion of oral proficiency testing in English and Spanish language through the American Council on Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) with a score of 3.5 /Advanced-Mid Level required
- CPR certification required within 60 days of hire
- Registered in the State of MN as an interpreter within 90 days of hire
- Completion of 40-hour interpreter training course through Bridging the Gap or TCI within one year of hire
- One year of experience in a medical setting preferred
