Group Home Manager
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree in a human services field preferred or three years of Mental Health Technician (MHT) experience.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
Primary Job Functions & Performance Expectations:
1. Group Home Operations
- Maintain accurate financial records and adhere to budget guidelines.
- Ensure a safe and clean environment for residents.
- Respond to residential emergencies.
- Assist residents in developing daily living skills and managing personal funds.
- Maintain adequate supplies and groceries; participate in meal planning.
- Support residents in setting and enforcing house rules.
2. Staff Supervision
- Implement and document supervisory and personnel actions as needed.
- Coordinate staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage at all times.
- Provide ongoing training for group home staff.
3. Consultation & Education
- Act as a liaison for residents, families, and the community.
- Provide presentations regarding residential services.
- Offer basic information on residential services to the general public as needed.
4. Coordination of Residential Clinical Services
- Develop and implement clinical programming based on recommendations from professionals, staff, families, and clients.
- Communicate weekly with Day Treatment staff and the Residential Therapist.
- Attend monthly Utilization Review meetings.
- Consult with the Residential Director as needed.
- Participate in relevant training sessions and workshops.
- Ensure client records documentation aligns with established guidelines.
- Complete other related tasks as assigned by the supervisor in a timely and accurate manner.
- Maintain confidentiality in all job-related duties.
5. Consumer Clinical Information Management
- Ensure proper storage and protection of resident information in a locked room when not in use.
6. Staff Billing Requirements
- Maintain and oversee staff billing compliance as established.
Additional Responsibilities & Expectations
- Check and respond to emails daily; acknowledge completion of assigned tasks.
- Familiarize yourself with company policies and report any non-compliance.
- Stay informed about policy changes communicated by leadership.
- Follow the disciplinary action process: coaching > write-up > suspension (some situations may require immediate write-up or suspension).
- Work a 40-hour week; track and report overtime, using flex time when appropriate.
- Minimize staff shift-swapping as staffing levels improve.
- Take the company laptop home daily.
- Review staff documentation weekly.
- Ensure daily attendance logs and CareLogic entries are completed.
- Submit biweekly summaries.
- Notify legal guardians about falls, doctor appointments, and required signatures.
- Monitor and document client spending money; ensure clients remain below $2,000 if the organization is their representative payee.
Physical & Mental Requirements
- Stand and walk for extended periods.
- Operate a vehicle safely and make sound judgments while driving.
- Lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Perform physical tasks such as standing, sitting, balancing, walking, pushing, pulling, bending, reaching, lifting, and grasping.
- Engage in frequent squatting/lunging for stocking and organizing supplies.
- Use fine motor skills for writing and handling paperwork.
- Lift various items ranging from 5-50 pounds for stocking groceries and supplies.
