Class Title: Administrative Assistant
Department: Administration FLSA Code: Non-Exempt
Position Summary/Purpose:
1. To perform any duties that may be necessary to insure courteous, efficient and professional customer service to each individual who has contact with Johnson County Appraisal District;
2. To provide accurate, timely, and courteous support to the Administration Director, Chief Appraiser and other district staff as needed or required.
Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities:
1. Assist the Administration Director with typing letters, locating information, scanning documents and miscellaneous duties.
2.Prepare outgoing correspondence, etc. for the public and process completed forms.
3. Ability to relate and communicate in a cooperative manner with all JCAD personnel.
4. Must be able to deal with the public in a positive manner.
5. Should have some experience in typing, telephone skills, data entry, and public relations.
6. Must possess computer and Excel experience.
Reports to: Administration Director
Supervises: None.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
Skills/Abilities
-Effectively interact, cooperate and collaborate with coworkers.
-Verbal communication skills, speaking distinctly and expressing oneself clearly.
-Clear written communication skills utilizing good grammar and punctuation.
-Neat, legible handwriting with attention to detail.
-Detail oriented, focused on thoroughness and accuracy.
-Proficient with Windows Operating Systems, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook along with related technology including but not limited to printers, copiers, scanners and fax machines.
-Understand and follow procedures as well as verbal and written instructions.
Knowledge
-Of office operations and practices.
-Of computers and their efficient use and operation.
-Of filing systems and their efficient use and maintenance.
-Of the Texas Property Tax Code.
-Of established policies and procedures.
-Of the overall purpose and objectives of the appraisal district.
Education/Experience
-Graduation from a standard high school or GED.
Other Requirements
-Must successfully pass job-related pre-employment screening and assessments.
-Must be able to work extra hours as necessary.
-Some travel may be required.
-Employees are expected to follow all personnel policies as approved by the Board of Directors of the
Central Appraisal District of Johnson County.
Work Environment:
Office work, exposing incumbents to computer screens, copiers, and other office equipment.
Work may, on occasion, entail light lifting.
