Responsibilities
The incumbent will:
- Perform a full-range of clerical duties in support of the Adult Education department. Duties include answering phones and emails, registering Adult Education students both in person and virtually, processing a variety of documents. Handle multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously and make decisions independently according to established guidelines.
- Process applications, contracts, student records and/or forms by verifying information, entering data into computer system, securing appropriate signatures, forwarding to other departments and/or agencies for processing, notifying students and/or employees of their status in the process of requesting additional information according to established policies and procedures.
- Retrieve, receive, and compile data from several sources, compare information to verify its completeness and prepare informational and/or statistical reports detailing requisite data according to established guidelines. Organize and transmit information electronically to other agencies and/or departments for processing.
- Communicate often via phones, email, Teams, and Blackboard Collaborate with prospective students, current students, staff, and instructors.
- Confer with supervisor to discuss work processes, plans, actions to be taken and appropriate work assignments/schedules for office, provide information, and receive instruction and guidance.
- Provide information and/or training in policies and procedures of the department. Work to resolve problem situations using independent judgment and decision making according to established guidelines and procedures.
- Perform other duties commensurate with the function and level of the position
Qualifications
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: High School diploma or GED
EXPERIENCE: One (1) year of applicable experience
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Duties performed causes light fatigue of eyes, fingers, or other faculties as a result of repetitive motion and/or long periods of standing or sitting. Duties require little physical effort in work with light to moderate (up to 20lbs) easy to handle materials.

Basic Level Interpersonal Skills: Position engages in or requires some or all of the following: General friendliness, courtesy, tact and effectiveness in dealing with others in everyday working relationships, including contacts to requests or provide information and/or exchange data; This level of skill is require for effective job performance; Position may deal with confidential information; and Has limited to some contact with students, program participants, and/or the public.

Job is performed in general office or comparable working area with many and frequent distractions such as noise, interruptions, or congested and occasionally confined work areas with exposure to disagreeable elements.
