What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custodial/Maintenance Technician (Part-Time - CCA) position at Central Assembly of God?
This is a crucial role is a part of our team that is responsible for making sure that our buildings are kept in tip-top shape for our students and teachers by performing custodial maintenance duties, including dusting, mopping, finishing and buffing floors, vacuuming and shampooing carpets, and cleaning and restocking restrooms. The schedule for this position is from 2:00pm until 6:00pm Monday through Friday. However, these hours are subject to change as needed due to school needs such as after school activities.
Description
Key Responsibilities & Qualifications:
- Performs general, routine custodial duties, to include dusting, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning restrooms, and restocking paper and soap supplies.
- May assist or perform snow removal activities and minor maintenance, such as replacing light bulbs, adjusting furniture, or other similar activities.
- Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
- Empties trash receptacles, disposes trash into dumpsters, and bags trash for proper disposal.
- Locks and unlocks doors as needed to ensure appropriate access while maintaining strict security protocols and standards.
- Reports needs and concerns to appropriate staff, which may include submitting or recommending work requests and checking supply levels.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
- Utilize attention to detail to ensure that all jobs are completed in an exemplary manner and any potential hazards or warning signs of problems are not overlooked.
- Must have the physical stamina to handle a full shift of being active and working in, on, and around the building(s)
- Must be able to ascend/descend ladders, scaffolds, and stairs as well as lift/carry/move heavy items safely and regularly.
- Must be a motivated self-starter, comfortable working independently.
- Must have clear and valid driver’s license.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort:
- Considerable physical activity. Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds. Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of job.
- Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
- Work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
