Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Service Manager to join our team. We are looking for candidates with experience in automotive diagnostics, service writing, and customer service. If you have a passion for the automotive industry and are a team player, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
-Beginning of customer’s experience:
- Schedule appointments for service/maintenance/repairs
- Answer phone calls
- Greet customers and check in vehicles
- Consult with customers on their needs
- Perform vehicle walk around and documentation of customer concerns to enable the technician to properly diagnose and service the vehicle
- Communicate estimates, scheduling, and work details to customers
-During service:
- Follow the status of customer’s vehicles from check in through work completion
- Document declined services and ask for follow-up on future service considerations
- Keep customer informed on completion times, service expenses, and deviations from original estimate
- Review repairs and services with customers to ensure a complete understanding of services performed
-End of Service:
- Upon completion of work, review work order with customer to assure all concerns are addressed
Other responsibilities:
- Distribute work to all stop technicians while monitoring progress and accuracy of each job
- Responsible for the organization and productivity of the shop
- Supply information on request to technicians
- Order parts and supplies required for scheduled work
- Work with supervisors to react to customer service issues, customer complaints, and/or business opportunities
- Build and maintain a positive relationship with customers
- Arrange towing and/or alternate transportation
Skills and Experience (preferred but not required):
- Experience in auto service management or related field
- Some mechanical knowledge in automotive repair
- Knowledge or experience with parts
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in service writing and/or willingness to learn
- Prior experience in sales is a plus, but not required
