What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mortgage Loan/Commercial Loan Assistant position at Central Bancompany?
This full-time position is located at the Main facility of Central Bank of Sedalia. Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance. Assists in the processing of loans, letters of credit, extension, modification, and any other documentation as necessary, and perform a wide variety of skilled clerical and administrative support. Ensure loan advances are handled accurately, according to instructions and in keeping with policy, report exceptions to the loan officer and immediate supervisor.
Schedule appointments and maintain calendars. Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding the loans in process, technical exceptions, loan documents, loan payoffs and other banking-related questions.
Provide support activities for the department such as answering telephones, assisting in resolving problems and inquiries of visitors, review and control of incoming and outgoing correspondence, and follow-up on operational and lending commitments.
Consistently demonstrate proficiency in providing exemplary customer service in person, by telephone, and by email. Maintain a friendly, positive, and professional attitude. Resolve difficult situations with tact and diplomacy. Remain alert and report potential business opportunities. Provide accurate product information and actively seek cross-sell opportunities; make appropriate business referrals to other departments.
Assist others in the department as needed and/or directed. May be assigned other duties and responsibilities. May be assigned work or training at other assigned locations.
Conduct relationships and activities consistent with established Bank policies, procedures and systems, the corporate code of conduct, Bank Secrecy Act and all applicable State and Federal laws and regulations. Report any exceptions promptly and prior to disbursement. Follow up on documentation exceptions and/or any outstanding items such as evidence of insurance or financial statements. Prepare loan documents and present to loan officer for review. Prepare loan documents to send to LSC making sure documentation is in appropriate order and file is complete.
Maintain a follow-up system to ensure documents are processed and returned in a timely manner. Update records and verify that files are complete and accurate. Maintain withdrawn/denied files.
Maintain a neat and orderly work area and ensure that all confidential records are secured and/or disposed of properly. Confidentiality and Privacy a MUST. Attend all the training required.
Requirements:
High school education or equivalent.
Prior lending experience is desirable.
Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures; accurate grammar, spelling, punctuation, and standard English usage; business correspondence formats, record keeping and filing methods; basic math calculations.
PC skills required, knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook preferred.
Prior lending experience is desirable.
Must possess good judgment and organization skills, the ability to prioritize, and handle confidential information.
Ability to deal effectively, courteously, and professionally with many associates and members of the public.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Ability to interpret and follow a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form and complete assignments without detailed directions.
Attention to detail required.
The ability to independently plan, prioritize, organize, and complete work in an efficient manner.
Assume additional responsibilities/duties/projects between Real Estate and Commercial loan departments including but not limited to tracking and monitoring of insurance and financial statements for commercial loans.

Must maintain a current, valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record for bank insurance purposes.
