JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for a variety of activities related to Image Processing services.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- High school diploma or GED
- One years’ relevant bank experience and/or item processing experience
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem solving, organization, time management, attention to detail, teamwork and customer service
- Excellent attention to detail, organization silks, problem solving and analysis
- Dependable with ability to work independently with accuracy and initiative
- Excellent 10-key dexterity with good typing skills
- Must have strong working knowledge of Excel and Word to include creating and editing documents
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Keys MICR lines: serial numbers, bank numbers, account numbers, tran-codes, and dollar amount on rejected items through capture software application.
2. Balances all transactions received and makes proper adjustments (i.e. customer deposit corrections, teller corrections and/or Branch Capture Suspense).
3. Prepares and scans interdepartmental items including deposits, checks, and other items into image capture software application.
4. Responsible for general oversight of day to day operations in the Item Processing Department which includes: verifying previous day deposit corrections for all item processing operators for accuracy, and properly clearing department branch capture outages.
5. Maintains working knowledge of retail deposit procedures to decision mobile deposits, upon verification of customer history, balances and deposit item history according to bank procedure.
6. Provides support and is a departmental point of contact for internal customers. Works with other departments and banking centers to resolve issues with a working knowledge of banking center policy and procedure.
7. Ensures each item has an image for archive and retrieval and that it meets image quality standards. Scans and verifies all non-imaged items for archive quality. Performs duplicate detection on items to ensure items from all channels do not post multiple times.
8. Responsible for ensuring file names, file totals balance, and verifies end of day totals are accurate. Authorizes Fiserv to post transactions in Signature.
9. Keys and balances credit cards through Remittance Processing application. Prepares file for transmission to Fiserv by posting deadline
10. Coordinates the workflow of the check processing area ensuring deadlines are maintained.
11. Maintains and updates procedures for this position and Item Processing Technician.
12. Conducts new teller training and tours, focusing on Item Processing related tasks.
13. Primary backup for 2nd Shift Item Processing Specialist which includes, but not limited to: sending files to Fiserv and the Federal Reserve for final posting, process various Wausau reports and move images into Nautilus. Complete Corporate Services request to reset Remote Deposit customer passwords, process dollar limit requests, and generate activation keys for various remote deposit clients.
14. Cross trains as requested by management for full department efficiency.
15. Performs other duties as assigned
